Totogi Launches Charging-as-a-Service for Zain Sudan, Revolutionizing Telecom Monetization

Totogi’s Charging-as-a-Service platform goes live for Zain Sudan, showcasing agility, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.

Totogi, the leading innovator in AI-powered, SaaS-based, telecommunications monetization software, has announced the successful go-live of its Charging-as-a-Service platform for Zain’s Sudanese operating company. The transition from a large, legacy, incumbent charging vendor was accomplished in 18 days at a much lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and sets a new standard for agility and innovation in the telecom sector for a Tier 1 operator serving more than 20 million subscribers.

Initially seeking to ensure uninterrupted business continuity, Zain engaged Totogi to explore using its Charging-as-a-Service. The successful integration of Totogi’s solution with Zain’s network facilitated the strategic opportunity to augment its legacy charging system with Totogi’s modern platform. After the successful migration of more than 20 million subscribers to Totogi, Zain’s production and disaster recovery environments now both run exclusively on Totogi’s Charging-as-a-Service solution, demonstrating Totogi’s capability to support a Tier 1 subscriber base under pressing conditions. The new system delivers up to 80% lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and provides unparalleled performance, reliability, and compliance. It has nearly eliminated Zain’s disaster recovery expenses, slashing them to just a fraction of the previous cost of maintaining a backup service.

This collaboration illustrates how Totogi’s next-gen, AI-powered monetization platform is empowering operators to face unforeseen challenges with confidence and resilience. By leveraging Totogi’s advanced cloud-native solution, Zain Sudan has future-proofed its BSS stack while ensuring an unparalleled level of service and reliability for its subscribers. Totogi’s modern cloud-native architecture — a distinct innovation in the telecom sector — combined with its ‘pay-as-you-grow’ business model, ensures operators of any size can rapidly scale and adapt to changing conditions.

Partnering with Totogi allowed us to not only navigate this crisis but also emerge stronger, keeping our customers connected and operations uninterrupted. Totogi’s innovative technology, combined with an unwavering commitment from their team, has been pivotal in connecting people across Sudan when they needed it the most. Transitioning over 20 million subscribers to Totogi’s platform was executed with remarkable speed and efficiency, showcasing the agility and effectiveness of their solution in managing large-scale subscriber bases under demanding conditions, particularly in times of crisis when traditional on-prem systems are likely to fail.
