Safaricom Sees a 10% Drop in First-Half Net Income

Safaricom has announced that they have seen a 10% drop in its First-half net income.

Upon releasing their financial results Safaricom witnessed a 10% drop in the net income in their first half. This drop was cited because of a higher cost of living, and an expensive network rollout.

It (the price cut) is not inconsequential or trivial … it has a substantial impact on our business.

Peter Ndegwa, CEO, Safaricom
