Ooredoo Appoints Bassam Al Ibrahim as its New CEO

Ooredoo has announced that they have appointed Bassam Al Ibrahim has its new Chief Executive Officer.

Ooredoo has welcomed its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bassam Al Ibrahim. Bassam brings over 20 years of experience gained in roles across the telecoms industry.

Bassam arrives in Oman from Ooredoo Algeria where, as CEO, his strategic leadership saw the company thrive, despite a challenging macroeconomic environment. He has also held a number of positions in Ooredoo Group since 2013, including Deputy Chief Procurement Officer – Strategic Sourcing. This is in addition to several senior positions in the areas of telecoms, information technology, project management and procurement at many multi-national organisations. He has also served as a board member of Ooredoo Oman.

With an MBA from HEC in Paris, and a BEng in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Essex, UK, Bassam brings his wealth of knowledge to steer Ooredoo into the next phase of its strategy. This will be focused on continuing to drive the country’s digital transformation and catering the ever-evolving communications needs of people and businesses across the country, in line with Oman’s 2040 Vision.

Ooredoo Oman’s Board of Directors, Executive Management and employees take this opportunity to thank Ms. Noor Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, former Ooredoo Oman CEO for her efforts and contributions. She was part of many successful projects and achievements. The company won many international, regional and local awards under her leadership.
