Vodacom Tanzania’s CEO Talks with Minister of Finance for the Country’s Post-Pandemic Growth

Vodacom Tanzania’s CEO Philip Besiimire met with the country’s Minister of Finance to discuss the country’s post-pandemic recovery and growth.

Philip Besiimire, the CEO & Managing Director, Vodacom Tanzania paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Finance & Planning, Mhe. Dr. Mwigulu L Nchemba at Ministry of Finance Tanzania offices in Dar es Salaam.

The Minister gave me insights into the economic prospects of Tanzania, highlighting the various areas of focus, especially with regards to the continued post pandemic recovery, and mitigating the economic impact of the Ukraine/Russia conflict on the lives of Tanzanians. The Hon. Minister appreciated the role and contribution of Vodacom Tanzania Plc towards growing the economy, through our investments in communication infrastructure and technology, bridging the digital divide through our innovative solutions and products, deepening financial inclusion with our acclaimed M-Pesa services, our tax contribution to Government’s revenue and our social and community investments.

I discussed with the Minister the various ways Vodacom Tanzania Plc and the industry can play an even greater role in stimulating and growing the economy of Tanzania. Vodacom Tanzania Plc continues to play a catalytic role as the leading communications company in Tanzania.
