Commvault aims to expand its Africa remit, appoints new Regional Director

Commvault, a recognised global enterprise software leader in the management of data across cloud and on-premises environments, announced the appointment of Kate Mollett as its Regional Director for a newly expanded Commvault Africa organisation.

Mollett will oversee Commvault’s Africa region with a focus on extending the company’s market share and leveraging Commvault’s expanding portfolio, including its market leading BaaS Metallic offering, into new markets across the continent. A priority focus will be leveraging Commvault’s well established partner network across the region, while looking for new partnerships to realise the huge market opportunity in many African markets for SaaS based solutions and utility pricing options.

“I am delighted to join Commvault both because of the opportunity to meet personal and professional growth goals, but even more importantly because of the incredible proven track record of technology leadership combined with recent record-breaking business growth both locally and globally.”

Kate Mollett, Regional Director Commvault Africa

With over 26 years of technology experience, Mollett joins Commvault from Veeam, where she filled the roles of Regional Manager for Sub Saharan Africa and more recently, Regional Manager for Africa. With a rich experience in Enterprise leadership roles in other global, blue-chip companies including Dell EMC, Microsoft and Dimension Data, Mollett’s insight, market understanding and long term competitive analysis of Commvault offerings marks a new era for Commvault across the continent, based on new relationships, proven sales methodologies and diversity and inclusion priorities.

“My objective is to take Commvault’s established leadership in the Enterprise sector to the ‘next-level’. The recent launch of Metallic, Commvault’s Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) portfolio, is fully integrated into the Microsoft Azure platform, and the very close relationships we have locally and globally, means our future success will be completely synchronised with the expansion, availability and penetration of Azure services across Africa. Along with our established and expanded distributor, partner, MSP and reseller community – all of whom are critical to our success – I look forward to being able to help customers across the region, increase the value of their data, while ensuring business integrity and compliance across their environments whether cloud, on-prem or hybrid infrastructures.”

Mollett has also always been entrenched in initiatives and projects relating to women in technology. As a woman in IT, who has worked her way up the ranks, Mollett plans to continue with her role of being an ambassador for female talent for Commvault locally, globally and within the African regional IT sector as a whole.

“I am extremely excited about Kate’s appointment and look forward to the new perspectives, relationships and opportunities she brings with her to this new role. Her competitive insight on Commvault will provide a unique perspective to drive this expanding regional business forward, and that success will be critical to my regional business, as well as Commvault’s wider EMEA and global business growth. It’s a very exciting time to be at Commvault and I look forward to her experience, professionalism and enthusiasm driving the Commvault Africa team to even greater success and benefitting my wider regional leadership team immediately!”
