MTN to launch 5G network this month

The company started to promote the launch of its 5G offering in South Africa in its recent Y’ello magazine edition.

MTN has started to promote its 5G offering to customers beginning in June. The company claims to make the “best network even better with 5G-enabled smartphones”.

The offer will be made available to both pre-paid and post-paid customers, requiring an LTE SIM card and a 5G enabled device. Part of the promotion are two 5G-enabled smartphones, the Huawei P40 and P40 pro, which will be available to customers.

The operator says 5G gives users greater capacity to connect multiple devices to the Internet.

Customers will experience exponential internet speeds and response times for faster downloads and a stable internet connection.

The announcement comes one month after Vodacom started its offering to customers in South Africa.
