Minister of Technology and Science, Hon. Felix Mutati has continued to be commended on behalf of the Zambian Government for successfully negotiating the Global Digital Compact (GDC) which was annexed to the Summit of the Future adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Zambia, through Dr Chola Milambo, Zambia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Co-facilitated the GDC intergovernmental negotiations together with Sweden. The successful negotiations of GDC is a great milestone for the country.
And Hon. Mutati says digital technologies have the potential to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in today’s interconnected world.
Hon. Mutati was speaking at a roundtable on Global Digital Compact – Aspiration to Action, alongside Google Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sundar Pichai, and others.
The Hon. Minister underscored the need for collaborative efforts, strategic partnerships, and a shared vision in the achievement of progress towards the SDGs.
The Hon. Minister highlighted that Africa has made significant progress in recent years, with notable advancements in digital infrastructure, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Hon. Mutati attended the event alongside his counterpart, Hon. Charles Milupi, Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development.
