MTN Uganda Partners with Uganda Christian University to Boost Digital Skills

This collaboration is a significant step in the commitment to preparing young Ugandans for success in the digital era.

MTN Uganda and MoMo have forged a partnership with Uganda Christian University (UCU) to empower the youth with essential digital skills. This collaboration is a significant step in the commitment to preparing young Ugandans for success in the digital era.

During the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, key figures such as David Mugawe, Vice-Chancellor of UCU, and Stephen Mutana, Chief Strategy and Stakeholder Officer at MTN Mobile Money Uganda Ltd, highlighted the integration of the MTN Skills Academy into UCU’s Foundational Basic Computing curriculum. This integration aims to provide students with practical digital training.

The MTN Skills Academy, an integral part of our Digital Skills for Digital Jobs initiative, has already enrolled over 1,420 youths since its inception in Uganda. This program addresses the crucial gap between digital skills and job opportunities, driving impactful change.

Additionally, MTN stated that they will continue to advance our initiatives like the MTN ACE program and the MTN Internet Bus, which promote digital literacy nationwide. This partnership with UCU underscores the importance of collaboration between the private sector and educational institutions in fostering substantial progress.
