Zambia is making significant progress toward launching its first satellite, with the government completing construction of the Earth Receiving Station. Technology and Science Minister Felix Mutati announced that over 14 million US dollars has been invested in building the Ground Receiving Station in the 10 Miles area of Chibombo District.
Experts are currently testing the facility as they gear up for the next phase of the satellite launch preparations. During a visit to the Wonderful Group of Companies in Lusaka West, Mutati reiterated the government’s commitment to this initiative, highlighting its potential to benefit sectors like agriculture, forestry, and groundwater management. The satellite is expected to play a crucial role in advancing Zambia’s technological capabilities and supporting key industries across the country.
