Nigerian Minister Explores Collaboration with Sweden to Boost Digital Economy

Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani engages in constructive discussions in Stockholm, aiming to strengthen Nigeria’s digital ties with Sweden.

Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, recently shared updates on the ministry’s progress. Over the past 8 months, they focused on four of the five strategic pillars outlined in their blueprint, setting the stage for initiatives under the Trade pillar.

Tijani’s recent trip to Stockholm, Sweden, at the invitation of Ambassador Annika Hahn-Englund, aimed to strengthen Nigeria’s ties with Sweden, its second-largest trading partner in Sub-Saharan Africa. During the visit, Tijani engaged in fruitful discussions with Swedish government officials and private sector representatives, exploring avenues for collaboration in innovation, research, connectivity, and digital technology.

Sweden, renowned for its innovation ecosystem and home to numerous unicorns, offers promising opportunities for partnership to accelerate Nigeria’s digital economy. Tijani expressed gratitude to Team Sweden, led by Minister Johan Forssell, for their hospitality and looks forward to further collaboration.

As the delegation returns to Nigeria, they carry with them the warm weather from home, excited about the prospects of future cooperation between the two nations.
