MTN Foundation and UNDP Partner to Establish Digital Innovation Hub in Cameroon

In a significant move aimed at fostering digital entrepreneurship and innovation, the MTN Foundation has partnered with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to establish a Digital Innovation Hub in Cameroon. This collaboration signals a joint commitment to drive positive societal impact and propel the country’s digital transformation forward.

Mitwa Ng’ambi, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Cameroon, expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting its potential to empower Cameroon’s youth to actively participate in the nation’s digital revolution. The establishment of the Digital Innovation Hub is expected to serve as a catalyst for fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion, providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to develop transformative solutions.

Nompilo Morafo, MTN Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, emphasized the partnership’s broader significance, noting its potential to drive innovation and inclusivity not only in Cameroon but across the entire African continent. By leveraging the resources and expertise of both organizations, the Digital Innovation Hub aims to facilitate collaboration among innovators and nurture the emergence of young champions in the field of digital technology.

Martin Hart-Hansen, Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP Cameroon, echoed the sentiments of his counterparts, emphasizing the hub’s role as a catalyst for collaboration and the development of transformative solutions. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the partnership with MTN to empower young innovators and drive positive change in Cameroon and beyond.
