Orange Tunisia and the company International Telecom Services (ITS.COM) have just signed a partnership agreement in order to proceed with the deployment of solar panels on all of the operator’s low-voltage radio stations, within the limits of constraints possible techniques (space, orientation, etc.).
More precisely, the project concerns more than 1000 sites and aims to produce renewable energy and thus reduce Orange Tunisia’s carbon footprint. The rate of renewable energy in the overall consumption of Orange Tunisia’s mobile network will ultimately reach 15%.
Indeed, the electricity consumption of the network remains an important item in carbon accounting, responsible for the direct emission of greenhouse gases (GHG).
Orange Tunisia’s stated objective is to reduce its carbon footprint by nearly 3,550 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
This project, a pioneer in Tunisia, will contribute to accelerating the country’s energy transition and achieving Orange Tunisia’s environmental objectives by 2025.
Our partner ITS.COM, approved by STEG and ANME, is a specialist in the deployment of photovoltaic solutions with several references for a cumulative power of several MWp. Its commitment and cooperation with STEG are therefore key elements in the success of this project.

This project, which is long-term, almost 18 months, helps to contribute to the fight against global warming, it is the very essence of our partnership, namely our common and deep desire to participate in this transition towards a green economy in Tunisia.
