Turkcell has announced the appointment of Bülent Aksu as its new Chief Executive Officer. The news comes confirmed days after Bloomberg reported about him being considered. Aksu brings with him a wealth of experience, boasting 25 years of professional management expertise in finance, accounting, taxation, and administration across diverse sectors, including telecom, energy, petrochemicals, textiles, and auditing.
Aksu’s tenure has been marked by pioneering contributions to Turkcell, particularly in the realms of financing investments and risk management. He implemented international best practices that have positioned Turkcell as an exemplary company in terms of balance sheet management and exchange rate risk. Aksu further solidified Turkcell’s standing in both local and international capital markets, pioneering initiatives like Asset-Backed Securities issuance, a first for non-bank entities, along with ventures into financial bills, lease certificates, and Eurobonds.
