Omantel, the leading provider of integrated technology services in the Sultanate of Oman, celebrated the graduation of 52 trainees from the third batch of the “Generation Z” training program. The celebration took place at Omantel’s headquarter under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Munther Hilal Al-Busaidi, Deputy chairman of the Oman Vision 2040, and in the presence of Talal Said Al-Mamari, Omantel CEO, and Omantel’s executive management.
This training program, offered by Omantel to fresh graduates in Sultanate of Oman, is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support and prepare young talents. It aims to hone their skills through an intensive training program that equips them with the necessary skills for the future. The Generation Z program provides a stimulating training environment, allowing trainees to apply the skills acquired during the program and gain practical experience by engaging with employees, understanding challenges, and finding creative and effective solutions.
The program also offers valuable and unique training opportunities for trainees to gain a close and practical understanding of the company’s operations through specialized courses and real-world project management. This equips them with the skills needed to handle their assigned responsibilities over the full year. In the previous two editions of the program, trainees worked on various projects, including process automation, enhancing consumer broadcasting services, and Omantel has executed some of these projects, now offering them as technological services and solutions to subscribers.
It is worth mentioning that the “Generation Z” program has attracted 123 young men and women from various backgrounds over its’ three editions. They were selected based on specific criteria among thousands of applicants for these training opportunities. Omantel employed trainees from the first two editions to join the company’s young national workforce.
The ‘Generation Z’ program is one of our most important initiatives aimed at supporting and preparing young national talents to become future leaders. The program complements the government’s plans and goals to enhance the capabilities of Omani youth in various sectors. Therefore, here at Omantel, we are committed to attracting recent graduates from various Omani educational institutions and Omani scholarship students to this program, providing them with opportunities to train on the job and develop their various practical skills.
During the program’s journey, we witnessed the significant effort and high sense of responsibility demonstrated by the trainees, reflecting the trust we placed in them. The program also helped trainees understand how to perform their tasks and responsibilities in the workplace, preparing them to develop their crisis management and critical operations skills through various technology and digital projects, such as metaverse applications, artificial intelligence, and holograms, as well as projects to improve technology systems and commercial services. This contributed to refining their skills, developing their knowledge, and enhancing their practical experiences.Dr. Ghalib Saif Al Hosni, Chief People Officer, Omantel
