Zain Bahrain Announces WE ABLE Initiatives towards Disability Inclusion and Accesebility

Zain Bahrain is marking the Global Accessibility Awareness Day by embracing WE ABLE initiatives to foster disability inclusion.

As the world prepares to celebrate Global Accessibility Awareness Day on May 18th, Zain Bahrain is marking the day by embracing WE ABLE initiatives and significant milestones towards disability inclusion and accessibility.

Zain Bahrain has always been committed to promoting accessibility and has embraced the ideals of the accessibility movement across the Kingdom. To commemorate this day, Zain aims to step up its efforts with a series of WE ABLE initiatives aimed at spreading awareness and breaking down barriers in the telecommunications sector.

The company has trained 38% of Zain Bahrain front liners in Sign Language to make the customer experience more inclusive, thereby making the Zain brand more accessible. In addition, it has recently created a Sign Language library that will be circulated publicly through Zain Bahrain YouTube channel and website to educate the public to learn Bahraini Sign Language.

The initiatives include partnering with accessibility societies and organizations to promote new and innovative ways to engage everyone, and it is currently in the process of enhancing the accessibility of its headquarters in Seef District to make the Zain Bahrain Tower building more inclusive and welcoming for everyone. The telco has been working to ensure that most of its retail stores are fully accessible and equipped to serve individuals requiring additional accommodations, with plans to increase this number.

Other initiatives include the first-of-its-kind national health service initiative in the Kingdom, “Natawasal” a video health call center for the Deaf Segment, which provides interpreters to translate sign language for deaf patients into spoken Arabic to doctors. Currently, there are 27 Public Health Natawasal Centers across the Kingdom.

Zain Bahrain understands the importance of creating a world where everyone is included. Our initiatives under WE ABLE are just a small representation of our commitment to promoting accessibility and inclusivity for all our customers. We aim to continue working towards creating products and services that cater to everyone, regardless of ability, and to make Bahrain a more inclusive.
