NCA and Starlink to Bring the Services into the Somalia

The National Communications Agency recently met with Starlink and the latter has expressed interest in operating in Somalia.

After today’s meeting with Hay’adda Isgaarsiinta Qaranka (HIQ) and Starlink Company announced that Starlink is interested in operating in Somalia, and the meeting presented how their internet system works in 87 countries.

The meeting was attended by the manager of the National Telecommunication Agency, Mr. Mustafa Yaasiin Sheekh, and the head of the International License and Marketing Movement of SpaceX Company.

The manager of the National Communication Agency, Mr. Mustafa Yasin Sheikh, who spoke at the meeting welcomed that Starlink is interested in working in Somalia.

First of all Starlink must meet the license requirements and go through the Agency’s application process.” The agency will evaluate the demand of Starlink company and the service plan they want to implement in the country.

Starlink is a mobile internet provider run by SpaceX founded in 2002. Starlink Service could be part of increasing Internet users in our country especially in remote areas in cities where there are no internet service.
