MTN Nigeria to Lease 2100MHz 3G License from NTEL

NCC has approved MTN Nigeria’s spectrum license agreement. MTN is now going to renew its 2100MHz 3G licence and leases spectrum from ntel.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced the approval of the spectrum lease agreement to MTN Nigeria. This spectrum is going to be allowing MTN Nigeria to lease 5 MHz of FDD spectrum in the 900MHz band and 10MHz of FDD frequencies in the 1800MHz band from Natcom Development and Investment Limited (NTEL).

This is a significant milestone in delivering our Ambition 2025 Strategy. The access to ntel’s 900MHz and 1800MHz spectrum broadens our spectrum holdings and improves our 3G and 4G user experience as coverage and capacity will be enhanced by utilising this spectrum.
