Airtel, UNICEF, & Ministry of National Education to Provide Free Educational Resources to 15 Public Colleges

Airtel Africa, UNICEF, Airtel Madagascar, the Ministry of National Education and UNICEF Madagascar have come together to provide 14,000 students in 15 public colleges with free access to an educational library and free internet connection.

As part of the $57 million ‘Re-imagining Education’ partnership initiative by Airtel Africa and UNICEF, Airtel Madagascar, the Ministry of National Education and UNICEF Madagascar have signed a 5-year partnership agreement to provide 14,000 students in 15 public colleges in the country with free access to the Ministry’s digital education library and free internet connection from Airtel within the institutions.

This announcement cements Airtel Africa’s commitment to achieve the goals in our sustainability strategy where education is a key area of our corporate social responsibility. Through facilitating connectivity and online access to education, we are supporting Governments and communities embrace digital learning while ensuring it is sustainable, and meets students’ needs across Africa.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of National Education (MEN), UNICEF and Airtel Madagascar.
