Safaricom’s CEO, Peter Ndegwa announced that he recently met with several governers from different county governments.

Peter Ndegwa, the Chief Executive Officer at Safaricom PLC disclosed that he recently met with Governors from the county governments of Muranga, Laikipia, Uasin Gishu, and Elgeyo Marakwet.

The meetings were held to discuss how Safaricom PLC as an ICT leader in the market can partner with different counties.

We also discussed how we can support the county governments in engaging with their communities through the Safaricom Foundation and M-PESA Foundation in the areas of health, education and economic empowerment.

We are keen to support these counties in digitizing their processes especially on the payment side, and we have agreed on the way forward. Supporting sports was also a key discussion especially in athletics and how we can encourage and nurture a new generation of marathoners.
