His Highness stressed that the huge digital leaps that the Kingdom is witnessing reflect the extent of its technical development and leadership, which made it enjoy a strong digital infrastructure that enabled it to confront crises and business continuity in various fields, which resulted in an increasing demand for digital services, which contributed to accelerating digital transformation and empowerment as it is One of the pillars of the Kingdom’s vision and as a key driver for the development of the digital economy, which stc, the most prominent digital enabler in the region, made it the core of its mission to always focus on innovation and the development of digital solutions, to enhance its local and regional leadership and global reputation and to play a pivotal role as the pioneer of digital transformation in the Kingdom and the region.

At an unprecedented pace, the investments of stc Group, the digital enabler in the region, during the first half of 2022 amounted to about 5 billion riyals, which contributes to strengthening the Kingdom’s position as one of the largest global economies in this sector.
Al-Wated stressed the continuity of stc Group in implementing its strategy aimed at empowerment, expansion and growth in unconventional paths through strategic partnerships, establishment of specialized technology companies and acquisitions as part of its quest to achieve its vision of growth by relying on the group’s infrastructure and modern technologies.
During this year, we held many partnerships with a number of international companies, including an agreement to localize data centers, train Saudi cadres with Huawei, enhance fifth generation networks with Ericsson, and develop and enable areas of innovation with Microsoft and other agreements aimed at expanding technical fields in the Kingdom. We launched the Saudi Cloud Computing Company in partnership with Alibaba cloud and the Saudi company SITE and Sky, as well as announced the establishment of a company in the field of Internet of Things technologies in partnership with the Public Investment Fund, and we also launched the initiative to establish a MENA Hub for the Middle East and North Africa region, in addition to our investments in submarine cables, and adopting sustainable initiatives that impact society, the economy and the environment, including the InspireU incubator to support and empower entrepreneurs in their emerging technology projects, which amounted to 75 projects whose market value exceeds hundreds of millions today, to which 15 new projects are added in the batchNine.
