A football nation at heart, Ooredoo’s FIFA Arab Cup Fan Zones in Muscat, Salalah and Sohar enjoyed resounding success as they welcomed over 5000 football fans to cheer on their teams. The final, between Tunisia and Algeria was even more action-packed as the two communities living in Oman joined together to witness Algeria take home the Cup.
Each Fan Zone welcomed football fans and families to watch the games on huge screens in an open-air environment, the largest of its kind to ever be held in Oman. While the food stalls, musical performances and traditional Omani folk dancing, as well as entertainment for children, kept the crowds enthralled throughout.
Ooredoo also announced that it will create fan parks across the country for football lovers to take in the action of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, taking place from 21 November to 18 December 2022.
