NCC Gives the Green Light to MTN Nigeria’s UAS License

In a recent announcement, MTN Nigeria has disclosed that the Nigerian Communications Commission has renewed its Unified Access Service license.

MTN Nigeria has announced that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has formally notified the Company of the renewal of its Unified Access Service (UAS) license and spectrum license for wireless local loop in the 900MHz and 1800MHz band, subject to license conditions, including additional amounts under discussion.

By this notification, these licenses, which expired on 31 August 2021, have now been renewed for a further ten-year period, starting 1 September 2021. The NCC also acknowledged receipt of the sum of N71.6 billion for the spectrum license and N374.6 million for The UAS license in settlement of their invoices for the period 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2031.
