beIN MEDIA Inks Multi-Year Blockbuster Deal with Sony Pictures

beIN MEDIA GROUP, the global sports and entertainment broadcaster and Sony Pictures Television have announced a major multi-year content deal covering the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Turkey.

The deal will bring some of the biggest Sony Pictures Entertainment (“SPE”) feature films including exclusive first and second window rights of the best movies and series to viewers of beIN’s entertainment channels in MENA such as beIN MOVIES and beIN SERIES – from family favourite blockbusters to critically acclaimed classics, as well as some of the most popular television series of recent years.

As part of the deal, a number of highly anticipated blockbusters are expected to flow to beIN from SPE’s slate of upcoming titles. The slate includes ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’, ‘Uncharted’, ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ and ‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’.

“It is fantastic to announce this deal and extend our strategic partnership with beIN, making them a fantastic home for Sony Pictures Entertainment across MENA and Turkey, and bringing some of our most popular and critically acclaimed film and TV series to the region. As our industry continues to navigate a challenging and dynamic period, this important relationship is a great way to connect our audiences with both recent Sony Pictures Entertainment hits and titles from our extensive Sony Pictures library.”

Mark Young, EVP of Networks and Distribution, Sony Pictures Television, EMEA

Additionally, the deal covers some of the most exciting current titles in the SPE library, including, ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ (2019), ‘Greed’ (2020), ‘The Broken Hearts Gallery’ (2020), ‘The Craft: Legacy’ (2020), ‘Bloodshot’ (2020) and the award-winning ‘Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood’ (2019).
